The little Susie-Home-Maker in me came out to play this weekend. We were driving around running errands and I saw a little stand on the road with a sign: Georgia Peaches. I though, yum... I'm going to have to get some and make a pie or something.
We got some ripe peaches (at Target actually because we ended up not having cash at hand... but they were still very yummy and I'm sure they also came from Georgia) and I Googled for a peach cobbler recipe. Of course the first one on the results list was from Paula Deen. I figured "this has to be good... that woman puts a lot of butter on everything!"
Well, it actually doesn't have a huge amount of butter as I expected and better yet, it's a VERY easy recipe. It took me about 20 minutes to put it all together and then onto the oven. And OMG!!! It's like putting a little piece of heaven in your mouth! It's fluffy and crusty and sweet and just absolutely delicious! So if you have some ripe peaches I would highly recommend making some Summer Peach Cobbler (with a side of vanilla ice cream and homemade whipped cream):
