So I'm finally coming up for air. I've been working over 60 hours a week for the past 4 months or so (on top of studying for the famous PE Exam, which needless to say I didn't pass this time). Jay has been super busy with a full load at school plus picking up my slack at home from working long days and weekends. And you all know our dear Gabriela can keep you busy!
There are a lot of mini things in our family these days... we had a mini-moon, we have a mini-budget and now we're going on a mini-vacation!
I have to say I have never been as excited about a vacation as I am about this one. I don't know whether it is the lack of sleep, the need to spend quality time with the most important people in my life, my yellow skin screaming at me: I NEED SOME SUN!!!...
... or the fact that we got a pretty amazing deal on a fabulous spot!
I had been longing for a getaway but hadn't gotten a chance to even think about it until after the submittal of this project this past Monday. Tuesday night I was sitting in bed with my dear husband and I said, let's just go somewhere nearby! No flights, no gas money and what more than what we love to do as a family: Beach time! And since the infamous oil spill is keeping all tourists away we were able to score a nice deal.
We found a cute little house in a small island called North Captiva, right by where we live, which you can only get to by boat!!! (I know, very Brangelina!) So on Friday we will be taking a water taxi along with our sunscreen, beach towels and Izzy to spend some good and well needed family time.
Check out how beautiful this place is:
I can't wait!
I'll definitely be posting some pictures of this adventure!
Love everyone!
Jen
