North Captiva Island Vacation

o we had a wonderful vacation. We left bright and early on Friday, the car was loaded with groceries, toys (both for the dog and Gabriela), beach chairs, bug repellant and all the other beach needs, drove to Pine Island (a small community near Cape Coral), took a water taxi and off we were!

Just bouncing on the boat from the waves and having that ocean wet breeze hit my face was enough to take all my worries away. It was such a great feeling!

Once we got to our "stop" on the Island, Mr. Marc was waiting for us with the golf cart ready to take us to the beach house we were staying at for the weekend. There are no cars on the island, so the only way to get around is by golf cart. Everyone has one! There are mini-parking spaces for the carts and the roads are all made out of sand... no pavement!

The weather wasn't really the best; it actually rained quite a bit and it was overcast the whole weekend (hence, we didn't get to take too many pictures). But we didn't let that put a damper on our vacation. We still enjoyed every minute of it.

Here are some pictures of the weekend:

Gabriela and I at the beach

Izzy checking out Gabriela's shells. She was actually spooked by them! It was pretty funny.

Everyone enjoying the car ride... we were flying at 25 MPH!

Woo! Izzy is having too much fun!

Ok lady, can you stop taking pictures and play with me?

Aww

And some scenery

Now it's time to go home...

Bye bye heaven!
