College Time!

Some of you may know that Jay's employment has been affected by the gloomy economy. After devoting 10 years to the company and many attempts by his bosses to keep him on the team, he was let go. At first it was devastating to both of us. I knew how hard he had worked all those years and he really liked the company he was with. I think he felt like he just didn't know what to do when the alarm when off the next morning.

After the awkward first few days we actually started to see the light in all this gloominess. Gabriela was just about to finish school and this would give them a good opportunity to spend some quality time together over the summer without having to worry about Day Care! In all honesty, I think Jay is a little fearfull of being forced to listen to the average 37,000 words coming out of Gabriela's mouth daily. But he loves playing so they'll make a great team.

In the past few months he had also been researching options to go back to school and get a college degree. We've all been very excited about this but a little apprehensive at the reality of the cost associated with it. Well, that's another positive spin on this situation. You see, since he was laid off due to the decline in the economy there are now great opportunities subsidized by the government for people in his situation. So he'll be getting a good start on his way to a great future!

Yay for Jay going to college!

  2. Gracias amiga! El pobre no sabe lo que le espera! Pero estamos muy emocionados. Ya Gabriela anda haciendo viajes a la uni con su papi. Toda una seƱorita.
